Epic is standing up to Apple and its monopoly on developers products. Apple charges 30% of each sale, putting the price up to the end user and not allowing companies to run their own platform. Tim Sweeney says the fight isn’t about money. Rather, he says Epic is fighting for “the basic freedoms of all consumers and developers.”“At the most basic level, we’re fighting for the freedom (CEO of Epic) of people who bought smartphones to install apps from sources of their choosing, the freedom for creators of apps to distribute them as they choose, and the freedom of both groups to do business directly,” Sweeney tweeted. “The primary opposing argument is: ‘Smartphone markers can do whatever they want.’ This as an awful notion. We all have rights, and we need to fight to defend our rights against whoever would deny them. Even if that means fighting a beloved company like Apple.”

Epic takes issue with Apple’s operation of the App Store and the rules that bar developers from using third-party payment systems that bypass the marketplace’s standard 30 percent cut, as well as restrictions banning developers from distributing software directly to consumers.

RedMoonPuppy often plays squads and lets the computer fill in the team for her, so if you see her in your squad, do say hello, but don’t worry if she doesn’t reply. Her microphone is off, but she can hear and will jump for yes and shake for no. She will follow your lead, pull you from the storm, share stuff with you and generally try to keep the team alive. She is normally live for 2 hours a day or more.

Battle Pass owners, the Wolverine Outfit and Classic Style are available now! Complete Wolverine’s new Challenge to unlock him.

New to Battle pass? Buying the Battle pass gives you access to all sorts of goodies the more your character levels up. However, you still have to earn them. You are paying for the opportunity to earn them. We get so many emails relating to buying the pass but not getting everything, it is confusing if new to these type of games but the general rule is –  buy a pass and then play hard and unlock items which become yours to keep. If you don’t buy the pass, you will not have access to them. If you decide to buy a Battle pass even at the end of the season – you can still buy the pass then and everything you would have earned will be released to you.

Sometimes you will see a skin that has an immediate price tag, many carrying some free VBucks as well. These are yours to use once bought, whether or not you have the Battle pass.

If you are completely new to Fortnite,  it can be  a little confusing at the start. Tips do come up on screen but here are a few things you need to know.

  1. You always start with nothing and have to find weapons and shields plus building materials when you land.
  2. You click play to go into the game and once in  – you will find yourself in a practice area or on board the bus. If you are on the bus then you are in the game. In the practice area you can just try out new guns and practice while waiting for the game to begin.
  3. While in the practice area, you can access the map by pushing the very small button on the controller (2 rectangles together) This shows you the route of the bus and you can choose where you want to go before the game even begins. You can press A on the map to place a marker. A again to remove, if you see somewhere better and it can be moved around with the joystick.
  4. There are various settings you can make in Fortnite that tell your controls how to behave. For instance, you can set it to run as a default.
